Interesting Painting Projects

We recently completed exterior painting of the Doctor Ossian Sweet House in Detroit. The rehabilitation was a Detroit city project, managed by Bluegate. Coloring Homes was sub-contracted to perform the exterior painting of the home.

The Dr. Ossian Sweet House in Detroit gained historical significance in 1925 when African American physician Dr. Ossian Sweet moved into the all-white neighborhood. Faced with hostility, the Sweet family defended their home against a white mob, resulting in a fatal shooting. Arrested and charged, the family's self-defense case, led by Clarence Darrow, became a symbol of resistance against racial injustice. In 1926, the acquittal of all defendants marked a pivotal victory for the civil rights movement. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 2016, the house stands as a tangible symbol of the fight against racism and discrimination.

Do You Have Insurance?

GENERAL LIABILITY: Coloring Homes prioritizes the safety and peace of mind of our customers. We are proud to carry a comprehensive general liability insurance policy with coverage up to 1 million dollars. This policy is in place to protect your property from damage by our teams in the unlikely event of any unforeseen incidents during our painting services. WORKER'S COMPENSATION: Because we are a painting contractor and work with different painting companies directly on a contractual basis, all companies and painters contracted by us are required to have Worker's Compensation Insurance to collaborate on a project with us as part of our policy. This is to protect you and our teams [form liability], while working on your property.
Will I be safe while your teams are painting in my house?

We perform background checks on at least 1 main employee of each crew. While we would like to, we can't guarantee we will perform a background check on every single member of every crew. Usually nevertheless, we hire local businesses who have been in business for a significant period of time, have already built a reputation operating with a high level of professionalism and integrity.
How much does it cost to paint my house?

Every home is different, every project is different. Some project may need a greater level of prep work on walls, some customers may need higher end materials etc. There are a number of factors that go into pricing. That is why we perform estimates. We collect all the information and present the price and details to the customer. You can request a FREE remote or onsite estimate here
What Paints Do You Use?

We have used a lot of paints in the past, from Benjamin Moore to Home Depot to Behr Sherwin-Williams. Our favorite paints to use and the one we use most is Sherwin-Williams paints. However, while we present options and recommend the ones we think are best for the project, the customer ultimately decides what paints they would like us to use.
As The Estimator, Are You Going To Be Personally Involved In My Job? If Not, How Will My Project Be Managed?

Our company operates in more than one way. There may be an estimator who estimates and do data collection only, they then use that information including photos and videos to calculate the project cost using our standard pricing formulas. You may also get an estimator who will also be a part of the project. Either way, you will be getting the same level of craftsmanship on your project. Our company is always customers focus no matter what.
Do you offer a warrantee?

We currently do not offer a warrantee, however, we recently started looking into it and may or may not offer one soon.
